rootr. has been a progressive web app since day one. Add it to your home screen and it has worked like a native app for months. That got us through the Portland and Brevard launches just fine. Now we’re building real native apps for iOS and Android, and we wanted to get ahead of it before you start seeing it around.
what’s changing
Nothing about the product itself. Same discover feed, same listings, same porch-drop flow, same neighbors. This is not a rebuild. It is the same rootr. you already use, just wrapped as a proper native app so notifications, camera access, and the home screen icon all behave the way they should on your phone.
pilot users, before anyone else
Before this goes out wide, we want a small group of neighbors actually living in it first, poking at it, breaking it, telling us what is annoying. If that sounds like you, keep an eye out here and on the app itself. We’ll be looking for pilot users soon, and first dibs go to the people already swapping on rootr. today.
when
We don’t have a firm date yet. We’ll come back and update this exact post once we do, rather than make you go dig for a newer one. When there is a real setup to point to, whether a beta link, a timeline, or anything concrete, this entry gets revised, not replaced.
